Aspen Dental - Virginia Beach, VA (Red Mill)

I only have 2 complaints which are easy fixes, everything else was excellent. The appointment making was excellent, quick and easy. The procedure was excellent. The doc was professional and she did excellent work. The 2 issues I had was the x-ray lady was a bit rough and the dental assistants attention would be on the tv monitor which was playing some show instead of 100% attention on the patient and procedure. Other than that all good. I will be going back for my crown.

To be honest this was my last resort because no one is accepting new patients/doesn't take insurance, ect. I read the reviews and was skeptical. I called and made an appointment. Apparently an "emergency visit" is scheduled a month out and scheduled by someone located in Texas when I called (weird) but we couldn't wait so we walked in to see if they could get us in. At 530 we were told they couldn't see a child in pain because they close soon (at 7). This was confusing because you had us in and out in literally 10 minutes when we did come in. When we went in initially, after we had scheduled a new time I was then told they have reached the cap of how many of my insurance they can accept. Not even sure how that's a thing I don't know that side of insurance but on we go. Everyone in view had their phone out and near them, more worried about the notifications than completing tasks and conversations. I felt the professionalism was lacking. They were absolutely no help when it came to getting me in with a provider who could help with a tooth extraction. I was given an ambiguous referral and told to call my insurance to figure out where to go, even after I told them I was in pain at the time. When the pain was finally bad enough to go to the ER, they were no help in getting me an appointment after I called in asking for more help or recommendations. Eventually got an emergency appointment at the Foleck Center and the experience with them has been a million times better. Also whoever does the x-rays kinda has bad bedside manner. The doctor was only in there with me for like 5 minutes for an evaluation And they tried to sneak a $135 toothbrush into my treatment plan. Won't be coming back.
