Coastal Kids Dental & Braces - Point Hope

We have always used Coastal Kids for our children’s dentist. When this location opened up we were really excited it was closer to our home and school. We had our first dental visit for routine preventative care in August 2023. Everything was fine. We then had our second dental visit for routine preventive care in March 2024. As we were leaving that appointment, we were slapped with a $325 bill for the August 2023 visit to our surprise since we have Cigna. The cost on the total bill was approaching $900 for the March visit as well. When I called insurance to find out what was going on, I was told this dentist was not in network and their prices were far more than allowable amount (hence the bill). We had never received a bill from the other Coastal Kids in the years they saw our kids. What is so infuriating is that we never got a bill for the August 2023 visit so we had no idea we were stepping back into a money trap with the March 2024 visit. We had an amazing experience with this dental practice today. Our daughter had a dental emergency and our dentist wasn’t answering the phone. They got us in within two hours and they were so kind and gentle with our daughter who is only 3. If we lived closer to their office, we would switch our care. The office is bright and modern. A very welcoming space. Highly recommend!

What a terrific experience from start to finish! Everyone in this practice was fabulous! My daughter dreads going to the dentist and at some point usually cries. This was our first experience without tears and she even received x-rays. Our hygienist, Amanda, was gentle yet thorough. Dr. Sarah answered every question I asked and walked me through all that was happening with my daughter's teeth. In my daughter's own words- "Best dentist ever!"
