Dentists of Highland Park

The office manager here, James Gabriel, is single handedly the most unprofessional and incompetent individual I have ever worked with. To be clear - I had great experiences with my dentist and dental staff - however I will not be returning (was a patient for two years) due to James. He does not listen (runs pre-treatment authorization without insurance after I specifically ask how much procedures cost with insurance), is unwilling to consider the dental office has made a mistake (they lied to me about when a dentist was in network), takes zero responsibility, and is rude/gaslighting behavior. I'm sorry James but there is no way you are paid enough to defend this clinic with your life. He seriously needs to work on his problem solving skills. Once I was able to work around James and speak with the dentists directly my issues were cleared up in five minutes (but I had to deal with James for weeks before I was able to make this happen by advocating for myself; I had my HR rep involved as

The dentists and staff here are super nice and helpful. I moved from out of state recently, and was very happy to find them. Highly recommended to locals and transplants alike.

Extremely disappointed to leave this review; there is actually a lot I like about this dental practice. Their front-line customer service staff (including James and especially Juan) are excellent, and I mostly liked the providers. However, in my personal experience they do not seem set up or willing to provide quality dental care for certain types of complex dentistry cases, particularly for patients with other medical conditions. This is a valid position which I respect. The problem is they don't communicate this well to patients. Instead, I feel like I've been "strung along" by a provider who is unwilling or unable to provide necessary care. In this situation, I would have preferred the provider simply communicate this to me ("hey, because of your other medical conditions, I don't feel like I'm the best provider for you. I recommend finding another dentist" is perfectly acceptable). That didn't happen here. As a result, I feel disrespected and unvalued as a client, and my overall den
