Downers Grove Dental and Orthodontics

The dental care is still excellent. Dr. Nugent does a wonderful job. My dissatisfaction was in how they handled my insurance. Dr. Nugent was in my insurance net work. But Redwood dental was not. When my claim was handled as out of network, because they submitted it under Redwood dental. They threw up their hands and said you owe us for the difference. ($1200) I called Blue Cross Blue Shield and figured it out in about 20 minutes. It would seem on the billing front. This would be an obvious thing to check. Blue Cross said they just have to get redwood dental accredited, just as Dr. Nugent was accredited. For a valued customer off more than 15 years, I would hope they would go the extra mile to sort these kinds of problems out. 1/22/2023 Still trying to sort this out. Several calls into BCBS. Hoping my last instructions to Kathy their Billing admin will be acted upon.

We were visiting the area from Georgia and my wife started having an issue with a tooth. After trying several other dentists offices we found Downers Grove Dental. They were very nice in working us in and diagnosing my wife. She needed to be referred to an Endodontist for a root canal. Given the holiday week, the staff at Downers Grove Dental called several offices in order to work my wife in that day. It was such a great experience from DG Dental, they really went the extra mile for us. Thank You!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new dentist nearby. Noticed from the reviews the practice was recently bought out and the owner is retiring. I saw Dr. Ryan Woitas was told I needed a crown which sounded odd to me since I have not had any issues in the past. I decided to go back to my old dentist in Chicago for a second opinion. They assured me I don’t need a crown and just need a new filing. It seems this dentist is trying to make money off their patients by recommending unnecessary dental work. Be aware and get a second opinion. It seems from the other reviews it has happened to other patients. I would not trust them.
