Gentle Dentistry

I have been visiting Gentle Dentistry for about a year to get back on track with the care of my teeth. All of the staff has always greeted with a great, ‘genuine’ smile. Dr. Akers is probably the finest dentist on the planet. She knows the quirky thinks about my teeth and is always aware if the consequences of any procedure that is done! She’s always very caring and professional. Keep up the great bedside manner! I never thought that I would say “it’s a pleasure to go to the dentist….but it truly is! Gentle Dentistry has a unique blend of being highly professional, along with kindness and consideration, try finding that these days!

When Dr. Z, José, and the wonderful hygienist (I can’t remember her name) were at Gentle Dentistry, I never worried about going to the dentist. They were all so nice, remembered my name and my story, and explained everything from a cleaning to a filling. I went today and was completely shocked to find out they had a FULL staff turnover, down to the receptionist. The hygienist was extremely forceful in scraping plaque off my teeth and stabbing my gums but explained the extensive bleeding I experienced on my “lack of flossing”. The dentist came in and after making a comment about how gas prices are increasing and we need more gas from North Dakota, he belittled me like a child for not “brushing and flossing enough”. I have never bled as much as I did today and I have never had as sore of a mouth as I do right now, even after a filling. I will NOT be going back.

It used to be a great place to go a year or two ago. Something has really changed though. I couldn't get an appointment because they suddenly treated my family as new clients, and they aren't taking new people. In addition, their voicemail information doesn't match what's on Cigna about taking new clients. I'm just going to switch dental offices rather than fight upstream to figure out what's going on and why.
