NYU Dental Faculty Practice

Dr. Huzefa Talib, DDS at NYU Dental was very arrogant and nasty and did not answer my questions. I will not be back.

This place is such a mixed bag but I'm going to comment on the worst of it. Dr. Talib (he's an oral surgeon) gave me a dire diagnosis without looking at my file. I asked specifically if it could be anything else and he replied "no". Then I said that I had braces, badly done in my 50's and he said oh, that's it then. He would have seen I had braces if he had bothered to look at my file. I'm so glad that I opted for him not to do any work on me. There is no real accounting department. For 2 years they had not been applying my insurance and then they sent a huge bill. The statement they have sent is unintelligible. I've been told that that's the best they can do because of the accounting program. I've asked for them to figure out a way to show what has been applied to insurance and what has not. It's shameful that this organization finds this an acceptable way to run the practice. This is so unprofessional.

My experience with Dr Shi has been incredible. Dr Shi is the most caring periodontist I’ve ever came across and trust me I’ve had plenty in my lifetime. Although it’s quite expensive due to the extensive amount of work I need done to bring back my oral health, I’m fully confident in her work. Dr Shi explains every procedure in details and she has opened my eye to how, why and what needs to be done to achieve my oral healthy. I’ve been seeing her since August 2022, my confidence was at an all-time low but little by little she’s changing my life and I’ve gained some of my confidence back. I know I will be very happy with the outcome in the coming months because I’m in great hands. I recommend Dr Shi 110% to anyone, she’s unlike other periodontist she’s kind and I can tell she love what she does and it shows. I rarely have a wait time, and if I do, she come to the front desk to reassure me the room is being cleaned for me. Although it can be a hassle for the front desk employees t
