Sierra Oaks Dental: Peter Kim, DDS

Conditions at this dental practice have changed for the worse over the past year. I have been a satisfied patient since early 2021. I had established a good relationship with Dr. Altig but just learned that he is no longer with this practice. I did not receive any communication about his departure which should be customary by a high quality professional office. Another reason for the very low rating is because in May 2022 I worked with the Financial Manager to resolve a mistake that was made earlier in the year. Tara took responsibility for the mistake and said she would correct my account accordingly. Come to find nine months later that didn't happen, Tara no longer works there and Dr. Kim refuses to honor her commitment to me. He is unwilling to stand behind his staff and won't speak to me directly. As his staff said today "He will not budge". To be honest as an RDA who no longer works at Sierra Oaks Dental. I have yet to find a DDS that truly has Dental care I believe in. If you want the best treatment I recommend Sierra Oaks Dental.

I wanted to give this dental group a chance because they are convenient to my home but had nothing but problems. 1) they tried to charge me a new patient fee even though insurance didn't allow it and it was never disclosed. 2) went in for a cleaning, which was fine, and then the hygienist said the dentist would be right in to check my teeth. Waited 20 minutes in the chair and no one came. I got up to look for someone and everyone left for lunch except one receptionist who was on the phone, so I walked out. They charged me for a dentist exam anyways. 3) they applied an anti-cavity lacquer without asking me if I wanted it, and then charged me extra for it and said insurance would not cover it. They refused to drop the charge. 4) tried to upsell me on various other treatments of questionable value that I didn't need or want. After 3 visits I decided to take my business elsewhere.
