WARNING: Do another take your children here!!!! Our son is very squirmish so we finally found this dentist, (because they take tenncare) they have laughing gas. We did not want our son strapped down for a couple of caps; another dentist had previously traumatized him. They were suppose to notify us if he started freaking out, they didn't they strapped him to a chair and scarred him for life; now he will probably never go to another dentist for the rest of his life. They worry about getting the kid in and out, they look at them like merchandise not children.
I have had worst experience with this dentist. We came here because it was our only option because we purchased insurance from marketplace and for some reason they put our kids on tenncare and we couldn't find another dentist that would see us. My 5 year old needed several fillings after his teeth were damaged from a fall and they would not let me have any choice about color of fillings they were placing on his 2 canine teeth on top so he had to get silver on his front teeth. And he was terrified of going to dentist already and they wouldn't allow me to go back with him. And I asked if he got scared and they couldn't calm him down if they would come get me and they said no. I have never heard of a dentist that wouldn't allow parent to accompany a 5 year old at least until they were sedated. I should have just turned around and left because my son will probably never forget this awful experience. And the staff are completely insensitive and make you feel like you are being punished for
My 7 year old went to have two teeth pulled and spacers put in AND 6 silver crowns put on. For all of this they numbed her with needles while she was crying and screaming for me (remind you they don’t let parents accompany their children and tell them to return to their vehicles) they then tied her feet down, her hands and her head on top of using an instrument to keep her mouth open while she’s crying as they do all of the pulling and drilling and what not. My child is traumatized and I’ve never been through anything like this. I’ve even called other dentists around me and they already knew from what I told them that it was western heights dental. Western heights is the only place using these approaches towards children and it’s disgusting. They have no empathy or humanity towards children. PERIOD. She never wants to return so I will be locating a new dentist. She’s literally still crying and sad and doesn’t ever want to go to the dentist again despite my efforts to sooth her.
