Had a root canal revision yesterday. Can't even tell it was done today. No pain whatsoever. The staff was comforting and Dr. Southard explained everything in detail during the first visit to after it was completed. Thank you for making a nervous patient feel at ease.
I am not sure how to put all of this. I was sent here because I was told I needed a specialist and a root canal. I make an appointment and have to wait almost 2 weeks then I get here and after a short exam I am told I need an extraction and that they don't do that here I need an oral surgeon. Now that is not their fault but then when I am billed almost 200.00 after my insurance just to be told that there is nothing they can do for me. This specialist dentist and insurance is starting to really feel like a scam. I am livid and would leave a one star but the staff is very nice and the Dr was very informative as well but the billing and referring with insurance is ridiculous.
I’ve had one root canal here and I’ve had problems with that same tooth for over two months since the procedure. I returned 4 times explaining that I still had pain and the first three times Dr. Southard just brushed me off and said all I needed was a bite adjustment and that never helped. On my 4th return she finally listened to me and “examined”, my tooth more thoroughly. She said that she found a crack in my tooth and I would need a bridge or dental implant (both expensive procedures). She then blamed my primary dentist for the crack although he hadn’t touched that tooth since way before the root canal. I returned to my dentist for a second opinion about the “crack”, and was told there is none. I was prescribed an antibiotic and within a week my pain has subsided. Dr. Southards office also charged me for and exam on my tooth that I didn’t ask for then tried to charge me for an exam on the tooth that had pain post op. I initially trusted her but was sadly mistaken, if you have any ot
