Gentle Dentistry - New Hope Winnetka Office

Mrs. Lea advanced dental therapist was awesome and very thorough when doing my exam and explaining the x-rays to me. I had my teeth cleaned by many hygienists at this company at this location over the years. and they were all awesome.

My recent visit to the dentist office Gentle Dentistry, the New Hope Winnetka location was unfortunately overshadowed by an incident of racial profiling and unprofessional conduct. Upon arrival for my scheduled appointment, accompanied by a client, I was dismayed to discover that my appointment had been rescheduled without prior notification. Despite having sent all necessary documents, including insurance details, ahead of time, I was informed that they were never received, despite clear evidence suggesting otherwise. Attempting to address this discrepancy with the receptionist only served to exacerbate the situation. Despite maintaining a composed demeanor throughout the interaction, she became increasingly hostile and irrational. Despite my efforts to calmly explain the situation, she raised her voice and demanded that I leave the premises. I appreciate that I was able to be seen by the dentist, also the efficiency was good. My only complaint is that I went to the dentist for severe pain and to try to get some help with pain management. I explained that Tylenol, cold packs and orajel was not helping me. The dentist treated me like I was an addict when in fact, I am a certified recovery coach. I specialize in helping active addiction by assisting the client with treatment, employment, housing etc. I am left feeling helpless and in pain until my next dental appointment at a different location 3 weeks from now. I wish I was treated as a patient with care and concern. Rather I was treated with what I gather is discrimination by the dentist. The office assistant was very helpful with scheduling and my insurance coverage. I will be attending a different location from here on out.
