Mother and I experienced our first appointment together for a basic teeth cleaning! Her appt. was 20 minutes late and mine was 40 minutes late. This is unacceptable for teeth cleaning, you’re over booking appointments! I told mother after 10yrs. of being lied to from our previous dentist that I wanted to switch practices due to the pain and suffering they had caused me, not to mention costs as a legally disabled person. I will say Jessica did a fabulous job with my cleaning. She done so well that actually it loosened up additional paradoxical banding, etc., that has ruined my gums, teeth, mouth, etc. So therefore, the verdict is still out. My dentist doesn’t see what I feel but says he believes me. Time will tell …

My first appointment was great. My treatment plan was explained to me clearly and I felt very comfortable.

The staff overall seems nice and well-intentioned. That’s what gets me to two stars. Been a patient at Hawthorne for at least 30 years (since I was a kid). Over the past few years, since new management/ownership, they have completely lost their way from a patient experience standpoint. Billing has been problematic for awhile and now going for a basic cleaning feels like I’m in a live infomercial with water piks, toothbrushes, and completely unnecessary extra cancer screenings being pushed on me. Shame to see happen but I’ll be taking my business elsewhere as a result.
