I hadn’t been to a dentist in 19 years. I haven’t experienced any pain during this time but about a year ago I started thinking about how I really need to get in for an exam, cleaning and so on. I had a lot of tartar build up and likely thought I’d have cavities. I also don’t have dental insurance. I scheduled a visit and they got me in right away for a consultation and exam and offered me a $39 special. The hygienist and doctor explained that my teeth were in great shape considering the time away from a dentist and told me I’d need a good cleaning and some cavities filled. They scheduled me for a few weeks later for the cleaning and called me an hour later to see if I could take a spot that had opened up. I did so and was pretty nervous about the cleaning. The hygienist made me feel very comfortable and was very kind, considerate and did a great job cleaning my teeth. She had some funny jokes and treated me like a friend. I have been going here for several years usually never any issues although I have started to notice turn over in dentists which is concerning. No one wants to see a new dentist every time. Most recently I had some work done back on August 29th for which they told me my cost after insurance was $200 and if it ended up being less they would reimburse me. I received a notice from my insurance that I should only pay $150 so I called them. They said they had to wait for the check from my insurance. I told them my insurance issued a check on the 13th of September today is the 25th they then inform me that they have to wait for the owner to come in and open the mail next Monday because it’s their money. Really? No one in the office can open the mail but the owner? It is not their money. The money belongs to the business and right now the business owes me a reimbursement. It seems to me like it is a very inefficient business model/billing system. I guess we should hope that the owner never goe
